MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ORAPI HYGIENE FOUNDATION

“The ORAPI HYGIENE Foundation, under the impetus of its board of directors and, I am certain, with the support of many members of staff, will help children fight contagious diseases and epidemics by learning rules of hygiene.  Both within France and abroad, as we are present on 5 continents, we hope to help as many children as possible to avoid contracting these diseases, simply by helping them to acquire good habits and learn the fundamental rules of hygiene.  It is a just cause and a great adventure that you are welcome to pursue with us.”

OUR COMMITMENT

Because each company has a role to play in society and can make a contribution through its know-how, its culture and, above all, its values, we have decided to create our own foundation: ORAPI HYGIENE FOUNDATION.
As the leader in France’s professional hygiene industry, our desire is to help children by joining the fight against contagious diseases and epidemics by teaching them the rules of hygiene.
Both within France and abroad, we hope to help as many children as possible to avoid contracting these diseases, simply by helping them to acquire good habits and learn the fundamental rules of hygiene.
Our ORAPI HYGIENE Foundation’s mission is to “Help children to acquire good hygiene habits to protect them against public health risks and thereby contribute to a future of good health for all of humanity.”

PARTNERSHIP WITH UNESCO

Our Foundation participates in the fight against serious, often lethal, epidemics. Firstly, it participates in the fight against the Ebola virus.
Indeed, in Liberia, only immediate education in hygiene rules can allow children to avoid or, at least, to impede the development of the Ebola virus, if it returns.
With the cooperation of UNESCO, our ORAPI HYGIENE Foundation supports the training programme in Liberian schools, training teachers in the 300 schools in 3 counties in Liberia, and has thereby enabled more than 80,000 people—schoolchildren and teachers—to be taught in 3 years.

OUR ACTIVITIES

LEARNING HYGIENE RULES THROUGH PLAY AND AVOIDING SICKNESS

The Foundation distributes 30,000 paper fortune tellers throughout France that will allow children to recognise, through play, “When and how to wash their hands” and “how to avoid catching and transmitting the flu”. Intended for primary school students, these games, written by an ORAPI group composed of 12 people from different departments and affiliates are validated by an educational tool analysis group set up by the French National Federation of Education and Health Promotion. These paper fortune tellers and an educational note that is included for parents and teachers are distributed by the group’s volunteers to all disciplines concerning children (schools, town halls, holiday centres, children’s hospitals, general practitioners, etc.).

SUPPORTING THE HAGOPIG AND IHOPE ASSOCIATIONS

In 2015, the HAGOPIG association was founded in memory of one of our dear colleagues and in support of sick children.
It works closely with IHOPe (the paediatric haematology and oncology institute in Lyon) with a single goal: to improve the daily lives of sick children.
Today, our Foundation acts to support these actions and seeks to further increase its investment in sick children.

HAGOPIG HAS CHOSEN THE ORAPI HYGIENE FOUNDATION AS A PARTNER TO SUPPORT HOSPITALISED CHILDREN IN CAMBODIA.

In its third year of the RAID AMAZON, which took place in Cambodia in December 2017, the HAGOPIG collective relied on the ORAPI HYGIENE Foundation, a reference partner who brought its support and conveyed its message of prevention to two Cambodian hospitals.
